Handicappedness

Sometimes I notice that in my beautiful family, there is an excessive amount of  jokes.  I love it.  Sometimes, even my father gets in on the fun.

So there I was, at the end of ward choir.  Somehow the conversation turns to Mothers' necklaces and rings.  My mother tells the story of how her wonderful children bought her the ring.  Then Sister Skidmore asks which one is which stone.   Mom's ring is upside down, so of course being helpful me, I put it right, and point out that I am the prettiest one and what makes the ring so pretty.  Dad says, "No, actually your stone is the flawed one."  Me, unknowingly ask "really? How come?"  He says, "well, its because your handicapped."

When the jokes come, I just have to share them.  I hope you all find this extremely amusing.  (Jenny)  Sometimes, I think its funny to watch people's faces.  But our in our ward they all think its funny.  I guess thats a good thing.

Pi, or Pie

I thought the title was catchy so I figured I had better say something about Pi. Pi is a great number, those that can recite it for more than 8 digits have no life. Personally, I prefer the other kind. I have discovered a certain fondness and fascination for this culinary delight. I was home with Grandma, and needed to keep her busy so I thought of a great plan. Here is what happened.

I think part of Grandma's fell off, because it sure seemed longer!

I have no idea whose was longer, but it sure was fun hanging with Grandma. We had good conversation

All the fun turned into..... I went to get my camera, and then.....hmmm...

I just thought I would share this momentous occasion with you all. I just made my first pie. It sure is great having a well stocked kitchen, where you didn't have to buy it all.

Bethanie is amazing! If you need anything, call her!

My Home

So,

I went home. I once I got here I realized that the only thing missing from making school perfect is my bed. I might even just stay at school, if only I had my bed. Strange isn't it, the silly things we miss when away from home. Well, maybe not silly, just things you don't really think about I guess.

About two days ago we got about 15 inches of snow. Have I mentioned I am not going to school in Rexburg to get away from snow? Hmmm But this whole snow thing has me thinking that maybe I will have a new winter goal to skiing. Yep, you read right...skiing. It may not happen more than likely, but I think I can always...consider deeply. Yeah right.

On a purely proud of onesself moment. I made dinner yesterday. I even considered taking a picture for all of your benifit, but it didn't happen. And I may even tell you my secret of why people eat my food towards the end. I love to cook Italian. I have no idea why, but I think it is just for breadsticks sake. I like breadsticks. I like bread in general. Breadsticks also have garlic and cheese. And butter...butter is good! Doesn't that sound like a perfect food? Anyways I made breadsticks, and pasta and a big green salad with mandarin oranges and olives. Thanks Emily! I guess I did kind of cheat on the pasta thing by using canned alfredo sauce, but i figure me fixing it up counteracts using it. I put in Sundried tomatoes, Chicken, peas, mushrooms, some garlic...duh! Can you tell I like garlic? Now for the secret. I started at about 5:30, so that good smells can permeate. We didn't eat til 7. Thats the secret. All of my food tastes good, because everyone is starving by the time I am through! Now you know my secrete, starve them and of course it tastes good. I think mom snitched before I was done and said it was good, but I think thats just a Mom's job. Oh well, I am proud of myself!

So.....

My two last concerts. I am so excited, but this is with who, or whom I get to play with tonight. If you don't know, I shall think you all are weird, and a little uneducated in......something. I am so excited!!

Lets just say, for tonight, one if my life goals has been completed. I am sorry I am not wearing more makeup, or my hair is a little messy, but it was windy today!

Everyone is doing it!

This morning, everyone seems to be leaving stuff on their blog, so I feel the need to do it too. Halloween...it was the most boring Halloween, let me tell you. First of all, let me tell you, no one around here understands the art of Halloween carving. And, as I have had 6 concerts this week, there was no time for me to carve one on my own, hence no pictures. I am sure this will probably happen to me next year. So, here is what I did do. I went and played, it was loud and crazy. Then Julia the Flautist kidnapped me and we went and got Adam, and went trick or treating. Funny story! We went along the lower floors, and of course there were people coming up and down the stairs, and they would see me, say just a sec, and run upstairs and give me candy. Candy, candy, candy!!! ha ha! Then we went to see some girls I have never met, but Mark and Brad knew, and we watched a crime movie, with the girl that plays in My Fair Lady and Cary Grant. It was interesting, and fun! then I went home and practiced playing chess, rootbeer floats, and went to bed. This morning, I am very busy, so this will be short, but these are pictures of my orchestra buddies, and what we do!

Oh the first one is of my black makeup...the other nights I used brown, because thats what I wear! My hair did not want to do crazy, and my bright red lipstick is gone! Oh well, you can all imagine that I just looked good!

The violin pirate gang! I had an amazing red sash, but it was not working, so you can imagine it! my favorite part is mah boots! (they weren't made for walking)

She brought a box of these every night!! YUM!

Thats Juliann, concert mistress, on the first night though, she had such a real looking scar, and one side of her face had a purple bruise! It was awesome! She had to be first mate!

I don't know what they are doing, but it was entertaining!

They get really really hungry after playing!!
I wish I had taken pictures of the cellos. Charity was the best because she had her eyes black, and she has really really bright blue eyes, but the batteries died on my stupid camera!! And then Kyle looked awesome with has scruffy makeup..anyways, maybe I can steal some pictures from Facebook from them! Ha ha
Happy Saturday!

Sorry!

So I think I confused you all and myself greatly, so I think I will try again. I already had a costume, and all I needed was a pirate name. The said pumpkins, were signed in one of the pictures. As I hope you can see, its not my name!

I was talking to Sis. Lisa Christensen, and for you guys that know Bro. Christensen, here is what he had to say on the subject of Pirate names. My personal favorite, String, em up Helm, or Wheel the Plank Helm. He likes Nobeard at the Helm, or Jackie Yo Ho Helm. I was also partial to Cat Gut Helm, but I didn't want to gross anyone out. How about Horse Hair Helm. These names aren't very feminine, but thats OK by me. It sure is fun making up pirate names when your last name is helm.
The Halloween concert opens tomorrow, in this week alone, I have 7 performances. I have decided I am going to die, not literally I hope

This weekend, Adam and I fed the ducks. as seen below. I was having way to much fun trying to train the ducks to fetch, meanwhile Adam was getting pecked in the leg. That was the one exciting event of the weekend, besides church of course, because student wards are weird!

.

I liked the gray duck!

As you can tell by proximity I think he liked me too! Silly duck!

They knew when we were done. You can't tell by looking but there were at leats 25 of them.

While I was there I talked to some old guys who were fishing. He told me the best place to fish was over somewhere, and he loves it there beacuse no one else does. I wish I was less directionally challenged. I also wish I had my fishing pole, but I don't know how to cook a fish, plus I would have to clean it! Gross! I will take pictures of my pirate outfit, but I need to ask Emily what to do about makeup with my limited supply. I have mega homework, so this one was pretty short. Aaron told me my blog was boring, so everyone should tell me what to do to make it more interesting.

Its been awhile

I was going to write down Everything about me, that has happened, but its been like two weeks so there goes that plan. The only funny story, is at the devotional the other day, we were singing the closing song, and the wrong words were on the screen, so some were using hymnbooks and singing the right words, and everyone else was just confused and started laughing. Then the next devotional it was so funny because the choruster..chorister...something..was finishing the closing song, and she winked. Everyone laughed because she had forgotten that we could see it. I met her later, and she said she was so embarassed because she was winking at the organist. Everyone thought for sure it was a boy. I picked out my pirate costume this week, and it is AWESOME!! Bro. Tueller though told me I need a pirate name, and the pirate name generator said for me its Dirty Anne Cash. I was hoping for something a little more original that has to do with me, but no bueno yet. So... if people have suggestions, that would be Awesome!!

There is a violin party tonight, so I have to go to the store and make some fruit salad. I am taking Juli Ann the violinIST with me to shop too, so it should be a party. I just wanted to add these pictures so everyone can see what goes on here. If you can't figure out what they are, that's really weird. ( PS this adding pictures thing wasn't working, earlier....sorry!!!)
